Review on Sceptre E275W 1920 V1 Frameless LED Monitor: Wall Mountable with Pivot Adjustment and HDMI Connectivity by Aaron Surabhi

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Good monitor at a good price.

This monitor was bought for $80 which is a steal for the specs it has. However, it does have some downsides that are unacceptable in this climate of ever-evolving technology, even at a fantastic price. Read on for more information. PROS: VGA, DVI and HDMI inputs. That's a lot of connectivity for a monitor of this class. - Low response time. CONS: - Blue output is wrong. Light blue tones are clearly visible, but as the hues get darker, they turn purple. I'm very picky about the color calibration of my monitor and it's very frustrating. The vertical viewing angle is terrible. This is by far the worst monitor I've seen in this regard. Even at a viewing distance of 2x the screen's diagonal (44 inches), which is quite far for a screen of this size, the screen changes hues dramatically from top to bottom. Too small. This isn't a manufacturing issue, it's a preference. I would say 24" is the minimum size for a 1080p display as the icons and text are way too small on this 22" display. Using the monitor has become much more bearable. - Leaning base. After assembly, my monitor tilted to one side and was bent 1/2 inch from end to end. I had to remove the base and sand down some material from the stem to make it even. This was very easy to do, but it shouldn't be required. The DOWN button sometimes turns off the monitor. That confuses me. When trying to adjust my monitor, the DOWN button sometimes caused the monitor to turn off. This was VERY frustrating as I had to turn the monitor on about 30 times before I could finish calibrating. Thankfully I'll never have to touch it again, but it was pretty uncomfortable. As you can see, the list of cons is much longer than the pros. Because of this, I can only recommend this monitor if all of the following apply to your situation: 1- You can still find this monitor for less than $902. You need a smaller monitor to fit the small footprint. 3- You don't work. Work that requires absolute color accuracy.
