Once you use this shampoo you will never go back to other relaxants. You should never relax the part that is not new growth but add a protector (sold separately) and my hair grew and grew whether I did or not. When I first used this my hair started breaking to the point where I could no longer curl my hair around the barrel of the curling iron. I love this product so much! The hair is really soft! The best relaxation product on the market. I left it on longer than the allotted time and surprisingly I didn't itch once! I didn't burn myself either. I actually felt like I should have stayed longer than I did for a more direct result, but overall this is a really great product and I love it.
