This item was purchased about a year ago and has hardly been used. Was empty most of the time and when I went to use it the other day I noticed a key piece of plastic was broken. As mentioned in other reviews, the workmanship is poor. Poorly balanced to actually hold the phone in any orientation when clamped and it breaks without any force being applied.

First, the materials are cheap. The clip doesn't have enough grip to hold the entire device together with the phone. The mount does not hold its shape well, the ball head on the mount has broken off. But even if the materials were better, the design is still terrible. The arm is too long to carry a regular phone. That's why it slips all the time, even when stationary. If you went shopping I would keep looking.

I bought this for my sister with cerebral palsy to help her hold things like cell phones, remote controls etc. It would get 5 stars if it came with Assembly instructions would be supplied! I had to order myself to send her step by step photos and assembly instructions. It wasn't difficult but not everyone is mechanical. It works great. It holds tight and the end of the clip can be snapped on 2" table leg or a wheelchair rail. The rigid yet pliable coil is ideal for placing an item as needed.

I have read many reviews for the same product elsewhere to get an idea of the quality. People love it or hate it. I bought two for the family. None of my 20 year old sons wanted them BUT we love ours! One is attached to the head of the bed and my husband enjoys watching TV shows on his phone before bed.
