Poor handling on paper

Product arrived with rolled edges and was damaged during shipping due to lack of support. Seems poorly made. The strips of papyrus were not precisely carved. Natural grooves were not evenly applied during production. Bark streaks are visible and detract from the natural beauty and cream color of the fiber. A sheet has holes where the gaps overlap. I was planning to use it for fine art, but it doesn't fit at all. Waited a long time, very disappointed.

Not suitable for all uses

My goal was to create a fictional ancient document (using calligraphy ink and pen) as part of a framed artwork, but I found the ink mixed poorly from each letter and spread across the cracks and ridges of the fiber. In addition, the webs were spotted with holes because the layers of cross-plied fibers were not tightly bonded. For some projects that wouldn't be a problem, but for me it was definitely affected. I finally found excellent papyrus at an art…

Great papyrus!

I purchased this papyrus as a prop for a community dramatic presentation and was very pleasantly surprised when I received it. The quality of the papyrus is excellent! Not perfect, but papyrus doesn't have to be perfect. The texture, colors and thickness of the "paper" are excellent and the sheets have survived 5 rehearsals, 3 dress rehearsals and 3 performances fantastically. Papyrus was carried in each one, "written on" and folded freely, and not a single sheet had to be replaced! I highly…

Beautiful Antique Art Material

This papyrus has a beautiful light color and a fine grain. It has a natural texture, so it's not as smooth as modern paper, but it's great for artwork. I've experimented a bit and found that the best pen for writing/drawing is the bamboo pen, which is probably the closest thing to a traditional reed pen. I used Speedball Superblack ink, but almost all inks work. Metal-tipped dip pens tend to stick and leave a jagged line even when they don't, but the tip of a bamboo crayon glides right over the
