Great product, terrible experience

Just note: The wire is wound onto the spool under tension. Unhooking the end from the spool released the tension and caused the end "hook" to unwind quickly and cut my finger many times. There was no warning on the product that the product would unfold quickly in my hand. I assumed the product was simply wound onto a spool like aluminum wire. The product meets all other specifications as far as I can tell.

Beware of US Wire Gauge

This product is a good starting amount for some of the chain mail I am working on. However, most of the large coils I've seen are measured in standard wire gauge, and this coil is in US wire gauge. Luckily, American 14 gauge wire is very close to standard 16 gauge wire. Using this spool I was able to make a 4" x 44" chain square out of 1/4" links. It's a good way to make sure you're really interested in chain mail before buying a big spool.

Also, the wire is slightly twisted (warped) throughout the spool, just like you would it would expect when the wire was rewound from the larger reel onto these little spools the wire is made in china and what not i paid $14.31 for the wire including shipping so i know i got this, what I paid for. This is a very good wire if the…
