Excellent certified hard drive

I read previous reviews and features before purchasing and the feature that influenced me the most was the government certifications this product has received, particularly FIPS 140-2. This gave me peace of mind that I can trust this drive and know my data is safe.

Pros
  • Easy to install
Cons
  • Cable is shorter than other models

Peace of mind with my data

Having lost all my data while going to work in the past, I realized the importance of backing up my data to something I know is is not accessible to anyone. I did a lot of research and decided on this product. I am very happy with my purchase and if I accidentally lose my drive or it is stolen without knowing my password, I now have peace of mind that no one can access my data. I wanted to put this review together to show others that not storing your data on an encrypted drive like this is too…

Pros
  • Certified
Cons
  • Somewhat serviceable

Works great when it works - unreliable

After owning this drive for a few months I stopped using it as it is unreliable. It often fails to connect to my laptop but inconsistently. It works for multiple connections, but of course when I need it for a presentation it doesn't show up, although the password is accepted. I eventually gave up on this very expensive solution, which turned out to be a failure.

Pros
  • Easy to read front panel
Cons
  • There are cons

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Poor performance, unexpected timeout

The transfer rate is very slow, less than 40MB/s, and the drive disconnects after a short time without active interaction, even during the transfer

Pros
  • Price
Cons
  • Can't remember

Cons
  • Not the best

Almost perfect for external hard drives

The only thing I don't like is the material. My storage unit is a bit worn, nothing special, and she already has cuts and furrows on her face. I wish the material was stronger or a different material. I've only been using this unit for a few weeks and it's already badly scratched.

Pros
  • Great price
Cons
  • Security

Drive works great but slow

Everything as advertised except the drive is very very very slow when transferring data. I haven't had it long enough to comment on durability, but I'm using a high-end gaming laptop and it felt like loading web pages from 1995.

Pros
  • Cool
Cons
  • Big and bulky
