Type of review

*Updated* It’s now 2020 and the fabric is still going strong, showing no signs of wear and tear. It’s lasted nearly 4 years in the California sun and wind with no end in sight. (Original review going forward) We love this! I used the fabric to replace a pergola cover. Easy to sew with. Blocks sunlight very well. It is subjected to a lot of wind here and so far the fabric is holding up well. The cover I made is 1/5 the cost of the replacement cover that is available and fails within a month. So…

Pros
  • Used at my outdoor bar for afternoon sun and it works great.
Cons
  • The 95% UV block may not be enough protection for those with sensitive skin

Works great as shade and a nice turquoise color

I have a canopy structure on the south side of my house. for ten years I have used green mesh tarps made of the same material.but they had grommets to secure them. Decided to try just the mesh material and got it long enough to double it for extra shade coverage. It was LARGE, but managed to get it into place and used waxed cord to anchor it. So far, we had 2 hailstorms, strong winds and lots of sun. Works great. No gaps, not dependent on 16 inch holes, etc. And turquoise looks more like a sky…

Pros
  • Patio Furniture & Accessories
Cons
  • The shade cloth may not provide complete privacy

No stars for this failure as a shade cloth.

This shade product is not very durable for Florida and excess sunshine. The fabric has flaked and is beginning to tear which makes the cloth useless for my use. Examining this would seem to me to be a poor product and unsuitable for outdoor use, more inside as shades. I have had to remove the offending mess and now ask is there a proper fabric that stands our weather? I had a shade cloth purchased ten years ago and it finally had the be replaced but that seems to be a good product. My shade…

  • No

Awesome product! in my review

I looked at a LOT of shade fabric before selecting this one, and I could not be happier. It was affordable, and there's a lot of it on the roll. We had 90-degree weather, for which I have virtually no tolerance. I work out of my home, and I needed to find a way to make the deck comfortable enough to use as a summer office. When this arrived, it made such an immediate difference that I e-mailed the company to tell them how great their product is. I also will be stapling it below my deck, behind…

Pros
  • 9.08 pounds
Cons
  • The product may require regular maintenance to preserve its effectiveness

Update April 2017--The screens worked well for 2 summers, then the material came apart. Considering the price, the purchase was worthwhile, but as a comparison, my Coolaroo roll up screens are still in excellent condition. This year I am using the more conventional Phifer solar screen material for window screens, which costs a bit more but looks better and will probably hold up for many years.Original review -- Having been pleased with Coolaroo brand roll up screens over several of my windows…

Pros
  • Made with high-quality materials for durability and longevity
Cons
  • The color of the shade cloth may not match well with existing outdoor decor

THIS FABRIC IS NOT BREATHABLE!

It keeps the heat off the deck, but it does not allow any air to come through. I encded up cutting slices in the fabric to so that it was letting in air. we have hung it across out balcony which faces western california sun, so very hot in summer months, so it certainly keeps the balcony and house cooler, but we have to open it once it cools down or the heat does not escape the balcony since no air come through. Plus it is a pain when it is windy as it blows all over needed anchors and tie…

Pros
  • Protection: Up to 95% UV stabilized 180 GSM polyethylene, Blockage on 75% rate, cut edge.
Cons
  • The shade cloth may fade over time with prolonged exposure to the sun

Just what we were looking for

Very nice and thick. A bit hard to measure if you don't unroll and unfold it all the way. Did not have the room to unroll and unfold it, so we cut each section about an inch more in the length we needed and trimmed after we hung it up. Used it to temporarily enclose a patio. Stapled the top to the patio beam and stapled a 1/2" x 8' piece of wood to the bottom to hold it down. Works great, our patio is a lot warmer and the shade keeps the wind out. We roll it up and hold with clamp when not…

Pros
  • Comes in a beautiful beige shade that complements any outdoor space
Cons
  • The shade cloth may not be easy to remove or adjust once installed

Strong and nice looking

We wound up using this as a replacement for a sunroom shade. It's very workable material and very strong. Although we us it inside this is strong enough to put anyplace. It's woven together super tight and looks like it'll last a long time. Yes recommended.

Pros
  • Perfect for use in gardens, patios, and outdoor spaces
Cons
  • The shade cloth may be difficult to clean if it becomes covered in debris or dirt

Cool in the shade in my review

I was sceptical after reading some of the reviews, so I decided to go against the grain and purchase. Glad I did, it's been a year and I'm happy to report no tears and still holding up. I live in Glendale AZ and summers here are absolutely brutal. I purchased this product to shade the West side of my home, where the setting summer sun sets and casts it's hottest temps on my home. Happy to say, all the windows and walls on the West side have absolutely no heat and the three bedrooms are cold. I…

Pros
  • Can be used to create privacy and shade in outdoor areas
Cons
  • The shade cloth may not be as effective as permanent outdoor structures, such as a pergola or gazebo

Best fabric available for privacy

This fabric is perfect for adding privacy to an existing fence. It allows some airflow while blocking the abiltiy to identify people or things on the other side. Especially great to add privacy to a pool area. This is the fabric only, and does not come with grommets, yet the fabric is strong enough to be stapled to posts securely.

Pros
  • Lightweight and compact design makes it easy to transport and store
Cons
  • The product may not be suitable for use in areas with heavy rainfall or snow

You will need a professional to turn the fabric into a canopy

We did not know what to expect with this fabric. Had to replace a canopy on a pergola and found it very hard to find affordable fabric. The fabric is now in an upholstery shop and they think it will be fine for our purpose. We cant address durability yet as it will be about a week before we get the finished product. The fabric was given a four star because we don't have the finished product yet.

Pros
  • Blocks harmful UV rays without obstructing the view
Cons
  • The material may not be eco-friendly or sustainable

Help cut the heat down!

We live in AZ and summers are hot! We hung these along both walls were the sun hits our house for 8 hours a day. It has easily cut 10-15 degrees off of our room and kids rooms. When it's 110 and the sun is beating against your bedroom walls 10-15 degrees is a huge difference!

Pros
  • Helps to protect plants and crops from harsh sunlight
Cons
  • The cloth may not be durable enough to withstand frequent use

This is 95%.: my feedback

This is for a privacy fence. We wove it into an iron fence. It holds up about 3 years in the Arizona sun. Thanks for attention!

Pros
  • Easy to install and set up with minimal effort
Cons
  • The product may not be suitable for use on uneven surfaces

Wonderful Product.: my feedback

I used it to re-screen my patio. It added both elegance and shade from the sun. A must have if your home has a front or back yard patio.

Pros
  • Adds an elegant touch to any outdoor space
Cons
  • The cloth may be prone to sagging or stretching over time

What you looking is the right

This is a great material that you can use it for any kind of weather . And the material is very easy to accommodate for your projects. Very light that when the wind is crazy do not fall easily.

Pros
  • Patio, Lawn & Garden
Cons
  • The material may not be as stain-resistant as advertised

Using it inside in my review

I am using this to block the heat coming in windows -- between the window and the Roman shades I have. It has cut down the heat down tremendously. The fabric is easy to cut and easy to pin up. (I won't want it in the winter when the sun will help warm up my house so something easy to put up or take down. I live in Texas.)

Pros
  • Can be used as a temporary or permanent shade solution
Cons
  • The material may not be as durable as advertised, leading to premature wear and tear

Would buy again but get a wider width.

This isnok material but I am afraid that it will shred in heavy wind. I also didn't realize it wasn't a finished product and needed to be sewn. But that could be on me. It does a good job with the sun.

Pros
  • Provides 95% UV block for ultimate sun protection
Cons
  • The shade cloth may not be as effective in providing shade during certain times of the day

Revainrating 5 out of 5

high quality looks and works great

do yourself a favor and buy the bone needle and cording, roll shade cloth around anchor and stitch/weave it to its self. sooo much stronger, I didn't do this last time and regretted it. last a couple years in AZ weather conditions including snow.

Pros
  • Windscreen4less
Cons
  • The product may not be widely available in retail stores

we were expecting something a bit more transparent, so that's why 4 stars. ended up not using for the purpose intended so cannot yet report on durability. the beige is an odd beige weave with lighter and beige fabric woven to make the color. it stands out a bit more than a solid kind of beige material might. i believe it's quality will hold up a long time.

Pros
  • Doesn't require special tools or hardware for installation
Cons
  • The shade cloth may not be suitable for use on certain types of outdoor furniture

Good so far, but lacks in the "privacy " department.

Good product so far. We'll see if it holds up over time. Some fabrics hold up for 6+ years and resist rot and fading. However, I have used some that fade, rot and generally look terrible in 2-3 years. It is a very dark green which blends in well with dense palmettos. As a strict privacy screen, however, it does not measure up. For instance if the sun is lighting you're area, you will be seen quite easily. We need it to block the path to our outdoor shower and will buy two units to double the…

Pros
  • Offers a cost-effective solution for outdoor sun protection
Cons
  • The shade cloth may not be as effective at keeping insects and pests at bay as other outdoor structures
