The brush is excellent! I'm totally impressed. I recently switched to a wet shave and started with the most popular Escali Pure Badger brush for $12.99. It worked quite well, but nothing special. I quickly became addicted to various creams and now soap. I found the badger didn't work properly with some soaps like Arko so I took a chance buying the boar brush. I was tossing and turning between this and the 1305 but I really liked the 830 button so I went with it. Very glad I did. This brush is…

Great brush for shaving accessories

First I have to add my DE wet shaving newbie (1 month) disclaimer and this is my second brush. First, there was no pungent odor or smell from the box. The brush is well made, only two loose hairs on the first wash. I found a forum that describes how to soften and deodorize the brush. I shaved with a brush for twenty-four hours. Odorless and soft like my badger hair brush, but a little harder. The only difference noted was less foam. It lasts a little longer and isn't as intense but not as…

This is one of the best. I have six Semogue brushes and about .

I use brushes and prefer boar brushes. This is one of the best. I have six Semogue brushes and about the same number of Omega boar brushes. I love them both but there are differences. Omegas are not as prone to opening or shedding their stubble as salmon. I prefer it a little. However, the semogues produce an incredible lather when rolled up. The Semogue 830 is no exception. It has a nice heavy firm feel and nice soft bristles that are hard enough to create great lather and are nice on the face

One of the best boar hair shaving brushes on the market.

Great boar hair shaving brush and for the price you can't go wrong. Now it's starting to foam very well, the break-in period is over faster than I thought. The brush is not too hard, but not too soft, like a badger hair brush. Very good shaving brush, it only lost a few bristles the first few times, after that it stopped. What I did to make it fit my razor stand was file grooves on either side of the handles 1/4" wide and 1/8" deep and now it slides right into my razor stand. That seems better…

Best brush I've ever used

What can I say? I love this brush. The price is fantastic for the excellent quality received. This brush definitely proved to me that I am a boar brush lover. I'm only disappointed when I use one of my badger hair brushes. This brush absorbs quickly and has a fantastic combination of softness and hardness. Even new out of the box, after being in a cup of water in the fridge for 48 hours, it was quite convenient and pleasant to use. I get a foam boost every time and a very comfortable shave. I…

The cheapest 90% wild boar brush I know.

Honestly, I stumbled across this brush. I had multiple outlets burning a hole in my pocket and I decided I needed a new boar shaving brush. My Semogue 1520 Superior Boar Borstle (with lacquered wooden handle) has chipped off in said paint. So I decided to replace it with 830. Wow! What a happy surprise! This head brush surpasses the 1520 in both boar bristle quality and handle durability! It is also better than 1800 in terms of hair/bristle quality. Since the brush retracts very easily, it…

This is exactly the brush you are looking for

Have been using Semogue 1305 for about 10 years now, the paint is peeling, the child has been playing with it in the bath etc. It's time for a new one boar brush. If you use soap I honestly can't think of a better brush than Semogue. But they have so many quality control issues with their pens it's unbelievable. I looked at another pen that was varnished, 2 in a row already had cracks in their paint. I wanted a knot, not a handle. So I started dabbling with acrylic pencils so I wouldn't have to
