I swear I could not recognize that there was a clear film on this until after I had applied it. I tried to separate the clear film from the tint for several minutes, and there was just nothing that made it look like there was a film. I tried the two pieces of tape method several times, and nothing! I tried wrinkling it in between my fingers, nothing. I just got this for Christmas it is my second bag of this style. I used the black one everyday for just over a year. Yes the strap started to come undone but never fully ripped. My husband is going to stitch it up and it should be good to go, giving it to our sitter to use when she goes out with the kids. For the price it’s been great! Like Goldilocks, it is just right. I was worried it would be too soft but it is pretty firm for a topper. I bought it for my rv so it is a little wide and a little short (isn't it crazy that a rv mattress is a different size than a traditional mattress?) but it works fine. I bought these for my baby's changing table, and i just stacked them on top and changed her on them with the intention of just taking the top one off whenever she got it dirty, and using the clean one underneath after. UPDATE: After posting my review, customer service reached out to me and replaced the scooter even though the warranty had passed. Bought this and was skeptical, but it does a really thorough job of melting the wax. The scent portion purely depends on the wax melt you choose, not this device.I would say placing off the cup to put a candle on there isn't the best option, only because the candle jar glass gets very hot, but it is a nice way to use up the left over wax when it can't burn.
