Review on Black Audio-Technica ATH-M50xBT Headphones, Size Medium (ATHM50XBT) for Improved SEO by Charles Adelaja

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Good, but also disappointing.

ATH M50x were my favorite headphones for 5 years until I discovered Sennheiser, Beyerdynamic etc. I still like these headphones for listening to certain genres of music. I was very excited when I heard they were making a wireless version of the ATH M50x, but when I received it I was very disappointed. Pros: They sound exactly like the original M50x when wired up. I've seen people say it sounds worse(?) which is completely wrong. The battery life is great and I can use it continuously for 2-3 days without charging. BT pairing isn't as bad as some say either. Yes, and it has a built-in microphone that's great for gaming. Cons: They do NOT sound the same in wireless and wired mode. He who says he knows cannot distinguish. I've replaced them 3 times thinking it was a defective unit, but the wireless sound quality is just worse when the volume is turned down. Wireless sound quality is still decent, but compared to wired mode? It's day and night, probably because the M50x are too good. Likewise. there is definitely a constant hissing noise in wireless mode. Whether you hear it or not depends on how sensitive your ears are, but some people say there's no noise, which isn't true at all. Yes, and the cable that comes with it is very different from the coiled cable that comes with the original M50x. IMHO it's only worth the $50 extra if you absolutely need portability. Otherwise just take the wired version. The upgrade does not justify being able to connect to a worse WiFi network from time to time.

Pros
  • beautiful thing
Cons
  • without automatic
