I liked the first one I ordered a while ago that I ordered the 2nd.

If you don't have either of these and sometimes find a place to put your flash or camera where a tripod or tripod wouldn't work, try this clip. . It has huge jaws that press against a 2x4 or larger edge to cut through very thin material if needed. The V-shaped jaw also allows almost any round tube to be clamped effectively, but be careful not to clamp it so tight that you break any of your light stand's rods. documented in the document that came with the clamp) is a small wedge-shaped plastic "filler" device that clips into a "V" of the jaw to form a V-plug and a side to flatten the cheek. This actually helps the divider grip the shelf or wall unit more tightly when there isn't enough room to slide the clip all the way onto the shelf (all the way down to the hinge side of the jaw). The wedge is kept away from the base of the smaller T-handle. This standard bolt is an important part of the clamp and here you can mount any type of ball head or just a hot shoe. Even with this smaller T-handle, the bolt attaches to a slot on the edge of the clip. One end has a grub screw tip that fits a hot shoe, while the other end is slightly larger and fits into a sometimes larger ballhead mounting hole - like a screw on a tripod. Other Manfrotto bolts will also fit in the same slot as this bolt, but must be any hex-based (non-round) bolt. So if you need to attach a female stud to the clamp so you can do something like a side mount to the top of your tripod and then use the jaws to grab something, that's the versatility you'll have with this clamp. There are several documents (catalogs and product descriptions) on the Manfrotto website showing many different uses of this clamp. Once you get one you will find that you can probably use 2 or more in your lighting kits.
