Extremely accurate and easy to use

I've used eight of these in various clock based Arduino and ESP8266 projects. They are extremely accurate. I had them in clocks that worked for 6 months without wasting time. The Arduino library for DS3231 is very simple and easy to hook up. I made a clock that checks internet time weekly and the settings were 0 seconds.

Very accurate

I bought other regular DS3231 RTS but they just couldn't keep up. You were free up to 30 minutes a month. So I finally got the Adafruit RTC. It's been two weeks and he still hasn't lost a second. Good job Adafruit. The problem is that the regular chips may be fake DS3231 chips, the crystal oscillator wasn't very accurate and it didn't compensate for temperature variations like the real DS3231 can. Thank you Adafrut.

Also accepts a 1216 battery.

I built this into a temperature logger for a Raspberry Pi car fridge. The Raspberry Pi has no internal clock and is not connected to the internet. My logs make sense now! I have this because it is advertised as a more accurate temperature compensated version as it will run from 10F to maybe 150F in a car in Pennsylvania, USA. However, I couldn't find a 1220 battery so I tried a 1216 (same voltage and diameter) and there was enough spring in the battery holder to hold the thinner battery. I also
