Okay, but only for small jobs. Expensive.

These are good soldering irons, but they are very small in diameter (little common material) and don't perform as well as Stay-Silv soldering irons (or many other manufacturers' soldering irons). FYI, if you are a DIY enthusiast trying to solder with a MAPP gas torch, do not buy the smaller Bernz-O-Matic MAPP gas torch, buy the largest one. Small doesn't generate enough heat for most projects (only for fairly small solder joints with low heat dissipation).

  • Confident
Cons
  • Out of fashion

Non-genuine

Although the product was similar to the one advertised, it was from a different brand and didn't even match the product from other reviews. If you are looking for a general purpose copper soldering iron and you have the right torch and application this will work just fine. If you're specifically looking for Bernzomatic PC3 rods, you probably won't get them. The Mag-Torch wands I received worked well for my application and would have given them a decent rating on their own.

Pros
  • Absolute Legend
Cons
  • Great Price

Excellent solder joints at a good price.

I bought (4) packs of these Copper Phosphorus solders because they were the cheapest I could find at the time. I still find it difficult to justify the cost when you see the (3) tiny sticks in each pack (each pack weighs 3 ounces!). However. I have used these copper rods primarily for lawn work: large spinning structures, trellises and the like. I bend and form 1/2" to 3/4" L-type copper tubing that you will find in any domestic drinking water system. I've found that copper rods are the easiest
