No expectations

This bag was highly recommended but did not live up to expectations. It fit my Leica M9 and three lenses, but I felt they weren't protected very well (and I ordered a three-piece insert at extra cost). The bag feels quite "thin" with thin walls and padding. I've read that it would require a 13" laptop, but that's not the case (unless it's smaller and thinner than my MacPro). It does not "stand up” on its own and therefore cannot be sat down. In addition, the bottom is very thin and without…

MY perfect camera bag for strolling around town

I've been looking for a bag like this for a long time. Like any avid photographer, I have had and still have many camera bags. Although nothing like that. I was looking for a bag for my Rebel XT with 17-85mm lens attached, Sigma 70-200 F2.8 lens, PD70X PSD, 35mm F2 lens, batteries, cards, lens hoods, remote control , cleaner and my iPod. enough stuff to be ready for just about anything. This bag fits but doesn't look like a techie bag. My Speed 5 has been called a handbag too often. a clear…

Very practical and discreet

This is one of my two Domke bags, the other is the smaller F5-XB. It has the usual excellent construction and attention to detail that is typical of Domke. If you like bags with 2" padding and lots of dividers, you are looking for the wrong brand. Domke bags are designed for use, not storage or heavy duty protection. By reducing padding to a minimum, Domke keeps its bags small in relation to their carrying capacity. This approach also reduces the weight, which you will appreciate at the end of…

Great camera bag for those who don't mind padding

I have two Domke F 803's, one sand and one navy. This is my favorite bag, not only for carrying photo gear but for other purposes as well. It easily fits an iPad or a small netbook - my 13" fits perfectly. The F 803 is not a bag for people who need a lot of different sized compartments or want to protect their gear securely. The bottom is soft and that's enough for my needs. I can fit three camera bodies in this bag, two contacting each other on the back walls and one on top.Not ideal but works

Not just for cameras - great shoulder bag

I already had three other Domke bags when I bought this one: dark brown F-2, olive green F-5XC and black F-802. Obviously I like them and at this point I wouldn't buy any other brands. However, most of these bags (with the exception of the 802 to a limited extent) are actually only suitable for photographic equipment. You can take out the dividers and put whatever you want in, but they only work really well with camera gear. Of course, that didn't stop me from using them regularly for other…
