4 piece specific gravity metal cylinder set. Set includes Aluminum, Zinc, Copper & Steel. Each cylinder measures 1.5" (38mm) in length and is 0.4" (10mm) diameter. Excellent for physics classrooms. Metal cylinders have a wide range of educational applications for all grade levels, including density investigation, specific heat and specific gravity exploration. Set includes a complete instruction manual that gives a background on density, specific gravity & specific heat and includes inquiry based student activities with capture sheets. Due to the nature of raw metals, some oxidation or corrosion due to humidity and storage may occur. Simply scuff any oxidation off to make the item look brand new again. Designed to be used in an educational setting and are not fabricated using ultra high precision machining. Expect tolerances in the +/- 5% range of any stated dimensions (although they are generally much tighter).

Perfect Measuring System for Labs

This measurement kit is a must-have for any scientific laboratory. Through trial and error, I found that the length cylinders and metals were extremely accurate and reliable. They are a great addition for achieving precise measurements in a variety of industrial and scientific scenarios. However, the kit could use some additional sizing options for more versatility. Overall, this product is a sound investment for anyone in the science education field.

these little ones! Best in measuring kits

I ordered these for a demonstration in science class. They are very small - smaller than I thought. They do an excellent job of density work with a small group of students. But you can't really hold them in front of the class.

Ideal for science fair projects

My daughter used it for a science fair project. She soaked them in water for several weeks to see if they would rust. It is difficult to find small samples of these types of metals, so they were excellent for the project.
