Has worked for a year

Purchased 28th February 2020, worked perfectly until February 2021, tried to use in April 2021 without flash. The transmitter is connected to the flash, you can change the power setting through the transmitter, but the flash will not fire. The LEDs flash on the transmitter and flash when the camera is triggered, but no flash. If you have a receiver unit, the same result LEDs on both will flash when the camera fires, but not the flash. Tried on 3 different cameras and 2 different flashes except…

Pros
  • Delivery was very fast
Cons
  • Only available in white

Good value for money and you don't need an upgrade

You have to read the manual (seriously I thought mine was broken until I read the manual) it's not intuitive . But once you figure it out, just exit the mode settings and enjoy. It's compact and affordable, with a great detachable hot shoe transmitter that you can just leave on the camera as it's so compact. Then slip the flash in your jacket pocket as if you always had a flash with you. They also include colored flash gels for added fun. USB charging is great too. Is there room to grow? It's…

Very well thought out product

I mainly use this camera with the Ricoh GR III. The flash is only about 35mm wide and the GR field of view is equivalent to 28mm, but it creates an interesting effect. The transmitter didn't work over large obstacles, but works well around/through normal walls and at normal distances. I recommend using rechargeable NiMH batteries, not alkaline batteries. Charge NiMH AA in unit - Easy to use and guide - LED light for video is a bonus - Fits easily in a pocket for use with point and shoot…

  • Consistent test results

I like playing with it

Manual flash is new to me so it was a learning curve. I bought this particular flash because of a YouTube video that piqued my interest. There are so many options and this one seemed easy to use and powerful enough for me to practice with. The remote shutter release works great on my Nikon and Olympus cameras. It's powerful enough for short distances of 10-15 feet, where I'm mostly away from the subject. . I like that it's portable and lightweight. You can tilt the flashbulb to different angles

Pros
  • Few competitors

  • Can't remember

Crisp light with cool color temperature

This is a very cool little light (in many ways). Having a built-in flash that is detached and becomes an external flash is a great idea. I also like that it's compact. The controls work well and appear to be of good quality. The buttons look great, as does the clasp. The whole block looks well thought out. The packaging is simple. You get some color gels, a USB charging cable with two B connectors to charge the flash and transmitter, and a flash and transmitter. I wish it had a plain white…

Pros
  • Test for one year
Cons
  • Reliability

the looks and construction of this thing is pretty good, especially for the price: it's light (a bit heavier with batteries , but not bad ), it's a cool built-in and detachable transmitter base, and based on some limited and unscientific testing the flash intensity seems OK (maybe better than OK, but again I'm not measuring with any device). My main issue with this is that after days of playing, I can never really predict if pressing the shutter button will actually fire the flash. I use it…
