I ran a cycle in the dishwasher and ended up removing so much limescale after washing! It worked! Then I found so many other uses online and ordered this large bag. I moved into a house with textured glass shower doors that I…

An excellent raw material for frugal hard-water homeowners

We use this citric acid three ways at home and it works great. We have hard water and all three uses help reduce the damage caused by hard water residue. First, we use it in the dishwasher as a direct replacement for Lemi-Shine. It works just as well to prevent hard water stains on dishes for 1/4 the cost. Use in the same amount as Lemi-Shine. The second time we use it as a tile spray in the shower to avoid hard water residue in the shower. To do this, we mix 2 tablespoons of citric acid with 1

Pros
  • Non-GMO fine-grain citric acid used in the kitchen for preserving, flavoring and deep cleaning; preserves the content of vitamin C in the food product. Certified gluten free.
Cons
  • There are other interesting options.

Used to remove stains in a Georgia saltwater pool

Year round our pool pavement is stained from wooden tables set on a shelf and metal toys left on the bottom of the pool and sometimes deadly blue-green algae spill onto the shelf. We use citric acid to remove these stains. I threw the entire 10 pound bag into our 40,000 gallon pool and focused on the stains. I could start with half that amount and wait for the results but we've been doing this for 9 years now and I always end up adding an extra amount. so that there is no chlorine in the water…

Pros
  • Ideal for bath bombs, used as the main ingredient along with baking soda (sodium bicarbonate) to make the bombs fizz!
Cons
  • Available in white only
