Best thing for the money, glad I did it.

So. heavy, the weight immediately doubled. My S1 lost its diminutiveness immediately. But all the same, it fits into the bag and the weight is not particularly felt. Beautiful, well made, people pay attention. Conducted preliminary "tests": sharp at all focal lengths. Sharpness from very sharp to "sufficient". At 10mm there is distortion (if you shoot fences, it’s not noticeable in ordinary pictures) and purple chromatic aberrations - they are completely removed in lightroom. What I especially…

Pros
  • you can put it on and forget about other lenses
Cons
  • heavy (relative to camera)

Not my best purchase, you could have found something else.

We needed a compact system for everyday wear and travel + a 2nd camera with the ability to write video. I looked at 4/3 for a long time, but I'm not satisfied with the format itself. As soon as the "ones" appeared, he immediately took j1, now there is j5. The advantage of the system is only in the 2/3 frame format. All. There is no compactness, no reliability, no opportunities (cameras are extremely cropped in software, there is not even a primitive exposure bracketing, which is found in half…

Pros
  • Outwardly, it looks solid. The stub is fully functional. Adequate travel zoom.
Cons
  • 1. Dark, but normal for zooms over 3x 2. Makes the built-in puff useless even without a lens hood, unless you carry a periscope-like softbox with mirrors (I assembled such a homemade product) 3. Poor quality. Immediately after the end of the warranty, the diaphragm block + tube of the central lens block was covered. The repair price is half the lens. Covered for no apparent reason, little used (the main camera is an old D300). In general, out of 4 available lenses, only one is alive (because it is new). Whale 10-30 and 30-110 did not even survive the warranty. They generally have a bayonet - plexiglass painted like metal (so, for information).

Disgusting, will never recomend it for anybody!

Although it is rather "dark", the presence of a stabilizer, sharpness from an open "hole" and the quality of color reproduction were completely satisfactory. If it had been assembled with better quality and lasted longer, and not died with careful rare use after 1 year, then it would have been quite a good lens for its 15000 . And so, this lens (like the entire Nikon 1 system) is money for wind, although I like it and I use Nikon 1 V1 with fixes all the time.

Pros
  • Normally built, sharp open, moderate weight. The picture quality is quite good for this class.
Cons
  • For no apparent reason and reason, the diaphragm block died.
