It's an engine and it's on fire!

Replaces the old fan motor. The price of this TYC part was fantastic compared to the local parts store. We went to YouTube to find out how to install it and it was relatively easy for a mechanical novice like me! We easily saved over $100 by making it ourselves.

Pros
  • Great Price
Cons
  • Out of Style

it howls as much if not more than the OEM it replaced

This howling or metallic grinding noise occurs a few days after installation. I thought it was necessary to hack, but it only got worse over time. I leave the fan switch on 3 or 4 to muffle the noise it makes. Not very happy.

Pros
  • Handsfree
Cons
  • I keep quiet

Good product and price

This product seems to be of decent quality and the price for the whole assembly (motor plus fan blade) was cheaper than anything I could find just one Finding a replacement blade (all I really needed). It fitted my car perfectly and has performed just as well as the factory original for the last month - no durability or reliability predictions as it has not been used very long.

Pros
  • Great for me
Cons
  • I don't have much to complain about, everything is fine

No more creaking fans. 2006 Ford Escape 6 cyl.

The right side works great. Getting a screw between the blower and the footwell wall was a tricky job - I ended up threading the screw into a narrow strip of styrofoam ripped from a coffee mug to serve as a non-slip mount - I couldn't get 2 fingers back. there, and I have trump hands. So it acted as a screw holder. I used a mirror to see things and then pointed an outlet or other tool at it to finish the job.

Pros
  • Inspires confidence
Cons
  • Almost never

Including foam, louder than OEM

This part works great on my 2006 Ford Escape. I also replaced the fan motor resistor as there was a lot of water and rust build up on both parts due to the clogged drain pipe. The fan motor comes with two new pieces of foam (but no instructions) and is of good overall quality with a nice black finish. Installation was pretty easy. First disconnect the wires from both the resistor and the old motor, then use a 5/16" socket wrench with a 6" extension to easily get at the 3 bolts. The hardest part

Pros
  • Everything is great!
Cons
  • Price
