I bought this to enable TP-Link AP500 Wi-Fi access.

I bought this to power a TP-Link AP500 Wi-Fi access point that uses a 12V 2.5A power supply. This cable will power the access point for only a few seconds and then turned on turn off. This is because the cross-section of this cable is too thin. This causes too high a resistance, which doesn't allow enough current to reach the device. I measured over 5 ohms of resistance in one loop of this wire. I found another cable with heavier gauge wire (which is actually longer than this cable) and it…

Pros
  • Hands-free operation
Cons
  • Wall socket required

Lots of broken ones best in accessories

I have bought about 15 of these cables. While most of them worked well, six of them failed at the end of the pin (chamber). Bad (broken) contact inside the case. manufacturing defect. Every bad cable had the same problem in the same place. Check the cable BEFORE laying it, especially when laying it in hard-to-reach places like attics. When testing, turn on the camera, and then bend the cable at the end of the camera. Many of my cables are broken, causing the camera to lose power when the cable…

Garbage. More than 30' voltage and current drop through the camera.

Garbage. Voltage and current drops of more than 30 feet caused the camera to turn off every night when the IR was turned on. 12.35 volts on the mains and 11.95 on the camera under load. Current dropped from 2.02 amps on the power supply to 1.65 amps on the camera under load. Information should be provided that this DOES NOT WORK for IP PTZ cameras. For some reason Revain listed it as "buy together" and it led me to believe it would work with my PTZ. WRONG CABLE FOR 30ft extension.

  • Stable Test Results

Works great - Accessory

I replaced my old Logitech security system with newer hardware over the 4th of July holiday last weekend and knew I needed more than the 10 feet they needed for each camera on several had jobs. One of them, in particular, should be a test farthest from the outlet. So I got these for this camera. Worked great. The camera connected to it easily and I had no trouble powering this unit. Enough length for me to walk down the gutters to keep it out of sight, just like I would have a POE network cable

Pros
  • This is great
Cons
  • Secret

Appears to carry power

30ft is a considerable length of power cord for a 12V DC system and this cord appears capable of powering home security cameras for which it is used. The camera power supply is rated at 1A, and the peak consumption of the camera is about 800mA (8/10A). I don't see any issues with the camera, which would likely be the case if the device stalled due to a weak cable. Other reviews mention the size of the wire, more = more power. Without hand cutting the wire and measuring the copper it is…

Pros
  • Not only useful for intended purpose
Cons
  • Was damaged

Plenty of cable to place your cameras anywhere in your home.

I don't like heels so let's get started:- Reach: I had to set up cameras outside my house and plug them into an outlet in the garage. With this extension it was very easy as there was still a lot of cable left. So if you're loitering around and need more video footage, reach here. - Power Supply: No matter you connect this cable or connect the camera directly to the included power cord without this extension cable, the camera will work. power is the same. It just works - Durability: The cable…

  • Sturdy build

  • Infinitely sluggish
