A bit small, but it also takes up less space on the counter. I've seen other reviews complain about not being able to put their soap pucks in, but for a cream it works really well. Four stars because it's quite expensive for what it is I'd go for something cheaper but I like the way this one looks.

Mileage may vary. as you have seen in the countless wet shaving forums dedicated to different products. I really like the bowl and it complements my DE89L chrome razor and stand but as MANY have said it is a bit small. I can work with it (cleanly) or use it in the shower without hesitation (on the rare occasion I shave in the shower) but if you really want to whip up some serious lather. you might want to keep looking.

If you're just starting out with a safety razor, this isn't what you need. The other reviews are correct, the bowl is small, too small and smooth to actually get good foam. Another problem is that the foam easily detaches from the edges. I've used it 3 times thinking I'm doing something wrong to get bad lather. I ended up using a wooden bowl my grandfather made for small items, it was bigger, taller and foamed better. Save your money and get a better bowl.
