My motherboard was missing a front USB-C port

I really liked how easy it was to install and now my front USB-C port works great. I would recommend this to anyone who has been in a similar situation with their build.

Good option for adding USB 3.1 support, with a big caveat about size

The card worked, but with a caveat: the down-facing side of the Type-E connector means the USB Cable is not very flexible and the card now works up to at least 2.5 slots on the motherboard. I could not use this card and the WLAN card at the same time because of the space requirement. The Type-e plug had to point outwards at the side.

Pros
  • USB port cards
Cons
  • Low maintainability

First a note: this card will not fit in one of the shorter 2.0 PCIe slots. However, it can be used in longer PCIe 2.0 slots. I didn't look closely enough; be ready. You don't get 10 Gbps on any connection. The description is confusing, but the fine print says "Two 5Gbps data lanes available". Even then, you probably won't get 5 Gb/s with it. I transferred a 1.55GB file from a Pixel to an NVME drive and it took about 40 seconds, maybe a little less, using the cable that came with the Pixel 2 (ie
