I have this and a roll of much wider tape. Wide tape works well for protection under the pickguard, but I prefer this tape to protect the inside of the guitar. The width makes it much easier to line cavities than with a wider tape. The adhesive has excellent conductivity, so sticking the tape is not a problem. Just perfect. I was restoring my Fender Precision 82 Bass and wanted to line up the guitar body tracks and bottom of the pick to eliminate EMI. Although the glue on this tape is conductive (meaning I don't really have to worry about it), I soldered the various points where each tape overlaps. I then soldered a ground wire from the tape to one of the pots (guitarist will know what I mean). The same with the underside of the pickguard. Done, amp on and to hell. as quiet as a mouse! Ideal.
