Hard slippery plastic makes it hard to hold

I wish they had a softer and less slippery plastic case like the old application kits. They are difficult to put your shoulder to your ear. Also, the control switches are cumbersome to use as they don't have the same tactile feel. In addition, they are smooth, like the rest of the body. The ear speaker has sufficient volume and the sound clearly represents the analogue signal present on the line. It is just difficult to handle.

Pros
  • Great price
Cons
  • Big and bulky

Overpriced like all stocks

This stock kit does exactly what it's supposed to do. I complain about the price, the same model from the same manufacturer has been expensive for decades despite the loss of quality. This tool didn't cost a penny despite the price tag of more than $100. It doesn't look like $113 hardware, the buttons are loose, and the molding is cheap. It's literally a phone with crocodile leather clips. I don't understand why it's so expensive, but using anything else is considered 'unprofessional', allowing

Pros
  • Best in niche
Cons
  • I'll add later

If you need an "application kit" to work with a phone or test phone communications on lines that also carry a data signal, this is a pretty good tool for that. It doesn't have a fancy digital screen or other crazy accessories; It's basically a phone with a connector for connecting alligator clips, RJ plugs, banana clips, etc. Not for testing voltage, current, resistance, capacitance, line length, open/short, or anything similar. Just a simple phone test kit. It will make outgoing calls or allow

Pros
  • Dope πŸ”₯
Cons
  • Expensive
