Pay extra for USB3.2 but only get USB3.1

I'm very frustrated, looking forward to my new Sabrent Rocket Pro 2TB USB 3.2 External Aluminum SSD (SB-2TB-PRO) just open it my Revain package and look at USB3.1 (not USB3.2) in the Sabrent package (SB-2TB-PRO). If you click on the product colors and details, you can see that USB3.2 costs more, which I was happy to pay to get USB3.2. Look at the 2 photos, you can see that this is the SB-2TB-PRO model, not the NVME model. (USB3.1) Even the Sabrent website shows this drive as a USB3.2 drive…

Two drives worked for a while but died on day one

I hate to trample on the product but when I got 2 of these SSDs with the same issue I had to let people know. I spent the better part of two days troubleshooting and researching the issue and couldn't find a solution. Phone support is almost non-existent (3 hours a day, Mon) so I started a ticket. The reply was polite and tactful, but the only suggestion was to see if I tried a different cable. Pooh! Two drives, two cables, 2 Thunderbolt/USB-C ports and 4 USB 3.0 ports, and still no solution…

Super FAST and solid!

I have bought many different SSDs in my time because I like the speed and the fact that they are quiet! But this drive is a completely different SSD, so it's amazing to be very fast. I now use it as the primary boot drive with my MacBook Pro because it's fast and has twice the storage space of the built-in SSD. It's an extremely durable drive, and while it's warm to the touch, that's a good thing because it means the durable aluminum casing is doing its job of dissipating heat. I highly…

Pros
  • CONSTRUCTION – Ultra-slim body made from sandblasted aluminum alloy. Slim, durable and comfortable. Portable yet durable, ideal for on the go.
Cons

Small, stylish and very fast!

Last spring I bought a 2018 Mac mini to upgrade my old 2012 and decided to upgrade my 1TB external drive at the same time. Wanting something bigger and faster, I was looking for a 2TB USB 3.1 SSD with USB-C connectivity to take advantage of the new Mini's USB-C ports. When I first started looking, most 3.1 drives were still limited to USB 3.0 speeds due to their internal drive bus and type. Then I found the Sabrent Rocket Pro, which was twice as fast as most of the competition, supported USB…

  • PLUG & PLAY – OS independent and fully bus powered, no drivers required.

Basically DOA, 1/2 the advertised speed when it worked

I really enjoyed using this with my new 16" MacBook Pro (2019). However, via USB-C the device is not recognized at all. When I use a USB adapter to connect it to an older 15" MacBook Pro (2012) it connected but at less than 50% speed. I then tried the same cable + adapter on a Thunderbolt 3 dock and a MacBook Pro 2019. It worked (once) but I'm still having slower speeds (33% of advertised speeds) so I tried reformatting it from ExFAT to Apple's native format on the old Mac and converting it to…
