Review on Copay Bitcoin Wallet by Natasha Williams

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Copay should use the blockchain network instead of bitpay servers

Copay wallet originates from Bitpay, the financial payment system developed to facilitate Bitcoin payment 2 years after the inception of Bitcoin, since 2011 Bitpay has being a major cryptocurrency payment channel in the virtual industry. After tracing the origin of the Copay wallet down to Bitpay I believed that it was also going to be a reliable wallet from a trusted and knowledgeable company.

Copay wallet has non been named Bitpay wallet, yo me I think that is the best cause it allows traders to quickly know that it is the official wallet of Bitpay, this allows them to show more interest in the wallet cause the company behind it is reliable, reputable and trustworthy.

This is the best wallet I have seen so far that works for both individual purpose and business purposes and it's free, it costs nothing to get it. Copay or Bitpay as it is now called allows any organization to run a joint business account whereby the decision making on any transaction on the wallet is decided by those running the wallet account before any transaction can take place, this way it creates trust and transparency cause everyone consent is needed to make any transaction happen. it works also for those looking for a wallet for their day-to-day crypto trading affairs, supporting swift Bitcoin and Bitcoin cash transfer mainly. Another good thing is you can also open many other accounts and run them instantaneously with any hitch.

The has its application for nearly all types of devices and operating systems you can ever imagine like Windows, Mac, Linux, android, chrome browser extension, and iOS making it possible for everyone around the world to use at any time they wish.

Copay claims to be safe but it was hacked so years back, I perceive this is the reason they decided to come up with a hardware compatible software wallet that can be combined to give traders more security and some feeling of comfort in their service although since the last breach the exchange hasn't been hacked by internet fraudsters, it's been almost 6 years since the last security hack and there hasn't been any negative report, it shows that the wallet team has been working so hard to protect the user's privacy at all cost.

One of the major challenge with Copay what is that it is directly connected to the Bitpay server rather than the blockchain network, these cause some delay in the running of the wallet some times making it take long for some bugs to be fixed.

Pros
  • It is compatible with hardware wallets
  • It is secure
  • It can be used for business and personal objective
Cons
  • No two factor authentication
  • It makes use of Bitpay server
