Overpriced, low flow and doesn't work with DC backup batteries

This pump is really underpowered for the money. The much cheaper Quite One pump has a much higher actual flow rate. The thing hardly drips. The regulator knob is useless at such a low flow rate. It's supposed to be 1900 GPH but I seriously doubt it. I am using it in a 100 gallon reef tank with a 20 gallon sump and an actual flow rate of 1900 gallons per hour is adequate. It also doesn't detect when the water level is too low and turns itself off. In this price range it should be like that. On the plus side, it was reliable. Although I've cleaned it several times in hopes of improving flow, it's not really needed. For a 40-55 gallon tank this might be a decent pump but for the price you can do a lot better. It also doesn't work with universal DC backup batteries as Current has chosen to use a differently shaped connector than other DC pumps. This backup would come in very handy during the recent Houston freeze. I plan to replace it as soon as possible. Too bad I spent 170€ for it.

Pros
  • An absolute legend
Cons
