It just works!

After a home renovation that involved placing a TV over the fireplace, I realized too late that my optical audio cable was broken. As I have old home theater gear that I want to keep, this was a big problem. I was initially put off by the price, but since I've connected to ethernet everywhere, it was worth a try. Works perfectly with no sound delays. I'm amazed that this adapter exists and I'm very glad I didn't have to dig through freshly finished walls.

I used the dueling jack which sent audio from the Toshlink output to the Schiit Modi DAC on the main stereo and digital coax to another system via a coax connection in the wall. Allows me to have Sonos in multiple rooms with one port. My Cat6 mileage is probably…

I used this to extend the digital output from my Sonos Port living room to my sunroom. through a coax wall outlet, through my basement, through my attic, through my garage, and then through a drilled hole in the eaves through 100 feet of Cat6 cable (and about 8 feet of coax to the wall outlet). That works great. Only the transmitter is powered while the receiver is cable powered and has a power LED indicator. I also tested it without using it and it only worked over regular 100ft coax, but it's
