Great price, great product for dye absorption

This is the cheapest soda I've found and works great with Procion dyes. I used 1 cup per gallon and let the fabric soak for about an hour while running for ice and setting up my dye station outside. I wring excess solution out of the fabric and add ice and color while it's wet. The color is wonderfully saturated and I am very happy with the result. I mixed it up in a large box with a lid to use until it's gone and there's no waste left. It's worth noting that I always use gloves because I have…

Bag Leaked

This is one of the cheapest places to order soda for dying fabric as buying from Home Depot or Lowes in the pool chemical department is much more expensive. The product itself is good, just as advertised. I'm giving a few stars because the bag itself has to be of the best quality. First, a zippered pocket would be nice. Second, there was a hole in my package that resulted in the soda covering everything else that came with my order. The box itself contained about 1/4 cup of soda and a small…

- Soda ash, washing soda, sodium carbonate or Na2CO3 are some names for a multi-purpose substance. Just don't confuse it with sodium bicarbonate, which is baking soda and much milder than that soda ash. Jacquard sells it as a fixative for dyes like Procyon/Reactive Fiber. Namely, it "attaches" dye molecules to the cellulose of plant fibers, i.e. cotton, linen and viscose of natural origin, which if I remember correctly! - are mainly repolymerized cellulose obtained from various plants, in…

This is pretty much the standard brand

This is just what you need if you are dyeing a lot but don't want to pay extra shipping costs from your regular dye supplier as the weight of the bulk will vary in shipping costs. Soda is needed to fix dyes. It's almost a standard brand. This is one of those cases where Amazon Prime will help you decide where to buy it. Usually 1lb is enough to make many batches of colour, but if you plan on coloring a lot or just want to have some left over this is a good choice.
