Even with the bad experience I have encountered I still love the project…

Even with the bad experience I have encountered I still love the project because it presents something new to the table, it is challenging at first and I love challenges. Ripple is an amazing project that offers something new to the blockchain world it is different and being different is actually what makes it even more unique.

Pros
  • The Ripple blockchain is incredibly fast, it is actually the fastest blockchain I have ever used in executing a transaction, the network isn't congested it is a new generation project.
Cons
  • It is difficult to use at first and really confusing, it is not like the usual blockchain system whereby you just input address, amount and send. It does have the address, amount-of-token protocol but has something known as "tag number" and if you put the wrong tag number but right address your funds will be lost as it will not go to the address I have experienced this first-hand. You must be very careful when making use of XRP blockchain.

  • Real-time transactions can be made cheaper and safer than any other system.
  • Ripple XRP is the glue that holds RippleNet together – without XRP, the system is nothing, so it’s a safe bet to invest in.
Cons
  • Less decentralised than most other cryptocurrencies – Ripple is owned by Ripple Labs.
  • RippleNet is not yet beyond testing with financial institutions.

Not a cryptocurrency at all. Totally not censorship resistant, centrally controlled, 80% of the supply in hands of company, shady marketing tactics with hype tweets to lure noob investors in buying tokens they were floating in the market during bull market. It’s more like an anti-cryptocurrency, nothing more than a google spreadsheet. Their company may sell some utility of their technology to the banking industry and if investors are lucky the company will assign some utility to the XRP token…

Pros
  • Nice test-net of what Ripples block chain is capable of
  • If you are looking long term investment 2-3 years then buy otherwise buy some other coin don’t waste your time. XRP either will be in three digits or won’t work much
  • Quite fast transaction speed
Cons
  • The tokens themselves will never be used in a production environment Banks will use their own private blockchains
  • So a con is that the price is going down (even after good news). Also, other coins are much more volatile, which is good for fast gains (or fast losses).

Regarding the quote from CONS: XRP was not made to serve as a crypto currency in the traditional way, like BTC, and just for paying a fee when two parties exchange or transfer assets/currency. But somehow caught people attention in a traditional way :)
