Theta: Reimagining The Video Streaming And Distribution Network
The entertainment industry had not been left out of what I personally like to call the cryptocurrency revolution, which touches on almost all aspects of human endeavors today. Talk about the video streaming service available worldwide today. The Theta blockchain is a purpose built decentralized video delivery or distribution network. It is also a cryptocurrency. As we all know streaming is a vital aspect of the video audio world today and as such requires a solid amount of bandwidth to run smoothly.
As an Innovative platform the project attempts to solve the problems affecting the I video streaming sector. I for one am particularly interested in seeing what Theta plans to bring to the table through its new innovative blockchain technology. Users of the Theta project, usually enjoy access to a global platform for video content. Talk about e-sports, music, TV/movies, educational content, peer-to-peer streaming, and even much more. Because the Theta blockchain is decentralized the platform ensures that Theta is powered by none other than it’s users.
Theta is interoperable and so, it supports the creation of Decentralized Applications which can utilize the toolset of the platform. Theta is largely ERC20 compliant and that really makes it all balanced to some extent. At least you have no trouble utilizing the Ethereum ecosystem. For now Theta is the only decentralized video streaming platform that I know of. Theta TV is the main streaming service of the network. There users can either view or post videos.
I heard that Theta is set to be integrated with Samsung Galaxy mobile devices. This will certainly account for broader coverage I’m sure.
The Theta tokens are actually built and meant to operate on the platform, as it is a governance token for the network. Currently, there are 1,000,000,000 Theta tokens in circulation and more interestingly, this is also the total amount of tokens that the platform intends to issue out. You can buy Theta on Binance. For storage you have no problem at all because the token is an ERC20 token and can be stored on multiple ERC20 compliant mobile wallets. Metamask is mostly used.
This is one of the good innovative projects I have come across that actually does some good in the cryptocurrency community. I am hoping they integrate their services pretty soon and make it accessible worldwide for better coverage and performance.
