Great Tools - Power Tools & Hand Tools

We had a building built at ground level in the Northeast with no frost resistant foundation. After excavating four feet of earth and pouring the freeze-resistant foundation and ICF foundations under the existing building, we had to pour the top inch of space between them. This was 15 inches (5 inches of styrofoam and 10 inches of concrete) to the back of the new foundation wall. The old foundations at ground level were cast in a moat and were therefore uneven. We considered pouring grout into the gap with a grout bag and/or spatula, but this got me thinking of a tool to do this. . . So, out of a hunch, I searched for "grout gun" and voila, it popped up. It was exactly what I envisioned, although I had to cut off one of the nozzles to clamp the 1" plastic pipe so we could get to the back of the 15" gap. It worked so well that I decided to use it for other projects such as re-pouring a brick wall this summer. I called the company because I needed to cut the nozzle off and they sent me two new ones...free of charge which arrived in a couple of days. I'd happily pay for them, but they were like doing business with a hometown supplier. This is a durable well construction tool that will last a long time. It even comes with adjustment wrenches and a stirrer. I suggest if you have a lot of grout, what you might want to do is clean it regularly when the solution dries on the tool and then lubricate it with WD40.
