Something about me. Longtime Linux user, even Lubuntu beta tester a few years ago. I usually buy a refurbished laptop with Windoze 7 installed and install a Linux distro like Ubuntu or Linux Mint on the same drive and dual boot. Although I don't particularly like Windoze, I use several programs that have been ported just for this operating system. So I need to keep a live version of Windoze and will probably need to upgrade to Windoze 10 soon. Anyway, this post isn't about me, it's about the recently purchased Dogfish SSD 500GB drive. The disc is listed on Prime which allows for delivery in a couple of days and it arrived on time. So far I've cloned it once using my existing boot SSD and there was a problem with the boot SSD so the cloning didn't complete. I reformatted the Dogfish and decided to test it on a dyno before doing anything else with the drive. Here is my current bench test today with Dogfish installed on the mSata bus on my Dell Latitude E7240. I haven't decided yet if I'm going to clone my existing boot SSD to the new Dogfish or just use it as a drive. Drive or device: 500GB drive - DOGFISH SSD 500GB [S0712B0] (/dev/sdb): 10.0 MB (10,485,760 bytes) Average read speed: 528.8 MB/s (100 samples) Average write speed: 456.7 MB/s (100 samples) Average access time: 0.08 ms (1000 samples) Guys, these are really good results and I will be buying more Dogfish drives for sure. The best value for money I've found in mSata SSDs. An image with a blue screwdriver pointing at a 500GB Dogfish. Screenshot of the dyno test results. Update: 10/24/19 Okay, I installed Windoz 10 on a fresh drive and it's very fast. Now I can boot from Linux Mint or Windoz. Relax
