Perfect for one or two people. I drink two cups of frothed coffee in the morning and my husband one cup of black coffee. I was looking for a healthy coffee maker (free of plastic, aluminum, lead, etc.) I didn't buy the expensive filters that come with it and I don't use a burr grinder, I know they're a must, but I have a limited budget. I use regular coffee filters, moisten them and then fold them to size. Then I grind good quality organic Arabica beans (2 tx 8 oz) in my 35 year old Krups electric coffee grinder (pulse to make the grind as even and fine as possible) and heat the water to 200 degrees (check this too my current thermometer). ). I purchased the 800ml Haro V6 Glass Jug (holds up to 32oz of coffee) and it pairs perfectly with the Kalita making it easy to pour and serve. I also read about Haro spouts but chose Kalita because 3 holes makes pouring easier than 1 hole. It takes less than five minutes to brew a small pot of coffee. I also have a large Bodum press and a large stainless steel coffee maker that I can use when I have guests, but this will be my everyday coffee maker. So it's also easy to clean - just rinse :)
