My daughter is 10 years old, average weight and height and they fit her perfectly. We ordered size 10. She said they are very comfortable and she looks forward to wearing them with her clothes for back to school. Close-up print looks like jeans. But it's a lightweight cotton material that's comfortable, at least during the summer months. I don't know how warm they will be in winter.
