You'll need a small flathead screwdriver or pliers. Worked great on my 2005 Murano. One strut is enough to keep the hood and tailgate open. I'm not sure how strong the original OEMs were when new, but it takes some effort to close, which is far better than the effort to stay open. The fit and finish was identical to the OEM, hopefully these 15 years will hold up like the old ones.
