I needed a portable light for night fishing. The long the light lasts the better. I bought this light because it advertised it would last 4-5 hours. With the price almost doubled the other 10w work lights in the same category, I'd expect this one really lasts "4-5 hours" like described in the ad. However, I tested multiple times and at most it lasted 3 hours and 5 minutes. After I sent my inquiry to Loftek, their CS did respond fairly quickly with some instructions to train the battery so it might be able to store more power - charging / discharging it several times etc. When it didn't work Loftek said they would send in a replacement battery. Ok Great!While I was waiting for the replacement battery, I researched online about the battery life, thanks to internet that makes us smarter. The time can be calculated by voltage x Amp Hour / Watts. So if the light is 10w, the battery is 4 x 3.7v 2200mah lithium battery, then the total hours of working time would be 4 x 3.7v x 2.2ah / 10w = 3.256 hours. Well, I guess that's it, even if I get a replacement battery, if all the numbers are the same, it will only last 3 hours and a few minutes. While I emphasis the working time with Loftek, they change their tone about the replacement battery. I was told the application for replacement battery may not be approved. but why not? I guess they knew the math and they just wanted me to return the product and be done with it. Sure, I could do that.So for those who really care about the working time to be 4-5 hours that you can at least fishing till mid-night, test it when you receive. Otherwise it might surprise you that you might have to pack your fishing equipment in the dark.
