There was a build quality issue that caused a leak, now it works.
The pump outlet to the tank was leaking and made a big mess on first use. Before I gave it up I disassembled it and fortunately found the problem easily solved. The pump outlet hose in the tank was not installed correctly, the hose had to be pushed further into the quick connector to seal. After reinstalling the exhaust hose, it now works perfectly. A little quality problem during the building process. Nice that it works now.
