The foam filters are slightly larger in circumference than the main filter, so dust tends to get into the main filter, while when you buy the main filter with the foam filter kit, the filter kit keeps dust and particles from clogging the main filter. If the manufacturer could make the foam filters smaller in diameter by about a quarter of an inch or fit more tightly into the main filter, I think that would be an ideal filter replacement. It's good for the price and serves its purpose.
