I bought this serrated cutter and the ability to use my other straight blade cutter and this serrated blade cutter. I was disappointed with the serrated blades. They are curled more than anything and they do NOT prevent fraying as well as pink dying scissors. So if you want to use it for that, you'd better keep looking. I used this blade and washed my fabrics and they were so strong it was like I hadn't done anything at all. I haven't had any issues with the cutter although it doesn't seem to be as durable as my Fiskars. Cutter. It's a little different, but acceptable. But as said, "firestarter blade" isn't as good as using firelighter shears.
