I really wanted to rate this higher but in the end it just didn't solve my problem. A little background: I bought a used CECHA01 PS3 and it could read/play PS1 and PS3 games and Blu-ray movies, but it could not read/play PS2 games or DVD movies. All signs point to a bad laser, that's how I came up with this product. After installation, my PS3 could still read/play PS3 games and Blu-ray movies, but lost the ability to read PS1 games. He also still didn't read PS2 or DVD games. I know I received a faulty product/laser here because I ordered another laser off eBay that actually worked and restored my PS3 as it was intended. Too bad this product didn't work as the packaging was top notch. . As well as the Torx screwdriver mentioned in the list, there was also a small Phillips screwdriver which was a nice surprise and was used for all the internal screws. The included literature mentioned watching video tutorials on the Nextec website for opening and replacing the laser deck, but unfortunately for some reason no videos were available. Apart from that, there are many tutorials on YouTube to help you. While you get a professional looking product, the fact that it didn't fix my PS3 (unlike eBay's laser) combined with the fact that the online support/tutorials appear to be abandoned doesn't rate me higher than 2 rate stars. .
