Like most work boots these were stiff and not very comfortable. They broke in after a few days and are as comfortable as any work boots I've worn. So much so that I sometimes forgot to take them off when I got home. These boots are durable and well constructed. All seams are double stitched and critical seams are triple stitched. The soles of the boots grip well even when wet, and the texture of the sole doesn't tend to pick up pebbles or dirt. I also appreciate the steel shank on the outsole. This not only helps with fatigue, but also makes standing on uneven ground much easier. I regularly have to climb/stand on steel beams that are only a few inches wide and it kills my feet in anything that doesn't have a solid shank in the sole. If you work on stairs etc. this feature is a must. I recommend purchasing replacement insoles with these boots when ordering. The included insoles are ok, but I found them to offer a little less arch support than I would like. I have a medium arch and the replacement insoles fit better. The heel cup and insole are also slightly better padded. They absorb hard impact and fight fatigue better, but aren't spongy or unstable. The included insoles are still pretty good and I swap out and use them occasionally.
