Here are my thoughts after using these rollers for the first time: 1940's and early 50's Hairstyles: Use medium and small rollers only. Sleep rolls are best. Never use large rollers. I asked my daughter for another set for Christmas so I can get all the little curlers. Late 50's and 60's Hairstyles: Use all curlers. Use big sections around the crown of your head for straight, bouncy hair with big curls. I think this is the era where those hot curlers really shine. 70's and later: Use medium to large curlers on big wavy locks and give them "big hair". BENEFITS: My hair REALLY looked smoother and shinier than normal sleep. on hair rollers or curling irons. Plug in the device while dividing the hair into sections. After I was done, the reels were hot and ready to go. The metal roll pins can hold any roll. This means you can attach any size curler to any pin or even buy a second set to get the size you want. Ideal for medium to large curls. Suitable for tighter curls if you have enough medium and smaller curlers to get the job done. .Time Saver: Better than a curling iron as you can apply your makeup while the curler curls your hair. The price is correct. CONS: Some people may feel too hot, so use heat-resistant gloves. Metal J-clamps are useful but not convenient to use. I recommend trying plastic curling clips. The container looks a bit wobbly, especially the lid. If you're exclusively into '40s and '50s hairstyles, I recommend just curling your hair the old-fashioned way. The curl only lasted a day. I can run out of hair in up to three days when using sleep rollers. For certain hairstyles or long thick hair, you may need to purchase two sets.
