Suddenly my gearbox (Xterra 2006) stopped working. The truck ran fine and I could move the shifter but the truck was just parked. I removed the trim around the shifter and found that the original shifter cable socket had come loose. I went to an auto parts store and bought one of the two "universal" bushings they had in stock. I brought it home and destroyed it trying to install it. Failing, I went back to the auto parts store and bought another "universal socket" they had in stock. As expected, I also destroyed this one when trying to install it and it didn't work. Here are the universal sockets. After spending $30 and experiencing unspeakable frustration with non-working jacks, I bought these. Upon receipt, I was able to install this part and reinstall all the fairings in less time than going back to the auto parts store to buy another "universal" jack. Do yourself a favor and buy this item.
