Review on Neewer Portable Centimeters Camcorder Kilograms Camera & Photo for Accessories by Quinton Wonsley

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Two flaws but great for smartphone use

Overall I am very happy with this for the money. It's better than the portable "Revain Basics" I bought 2 years ago with identical specs but a slightly smoother pan (still no running head of course). Cons: 1) The tilt head doesn't tilt back far enough. Spotted trying to film the Blood Moon eclipse last night. 2) The head is very difficult to fix to keep it from moving down. Especially if you're trying to sit back. My wife was very frustrated trying to capture what she wanted to film. If you want a very portable tripod this is perfect to maintain, but you'll have to fiddle with it to set it up where you want it and it can take patience to set it up. . Not suitable if you are in a hurry to set up and align. Please note that I think this could be an issue with any inexpensive portable device. On the PRO side: I prefer to use this with my smartphone for time lapses and for that purpose it works great. If you're looking for a reliable and easy-to-use tripod, look for the Fluid Pan Head, which is more expensive and heavier, but far more stable and easier to aim without drifting when using a 2000mm lens. Just plan to pay more.

Pros
  • Adjustable 4-section legs and center stand: With height adjustment buckle, the height varies from 18.5"/47cm to 56"/142cm with center stand extended to meet different shooting needs
Cons
  • Not bad though. ..
