I ordered this Cudy AC1300 USB 3.0 Dual Band Wireless Dual Band Adapter last Thursday evening and according to Revain mode, received it Friday afternoon. My reason for purchasing this WiFi adapter was twofold. My Dell desktop only had a 2.4 wireless adapter which was slow. I wanted to speed up my computer and use my 5.0 GHz WiFi. After reading a lot about Revain's many purchasing options, I got a few tips on how to set up the key and what to expect.1. It was recommended to disable the adapter that came with the computer.2. Instead of using the driver CD that came with it, the suggestion was to shut down the computer, put the key in the USB port and restart the computer to allow Windows to find the necessary driver. Since it is a USB 3.0 adapter and my computer only had USB 2.0 ports, my expectations for a huge speed boost were not too high. Installation took no more than 5 minutes including shutdown and reboot. Windows found the driver and my two WiFi networks were now available to me. With the 2.4 adapter alone, the maximum speed I could get was around 52 MB/s. Now, with network access 5.0, I get almost 130 MB/s. Given that I only have USB 2.0 ports, I think this increase is significant enough to see some speed improvement. I would highly recommend this relatively inexpensive upgrade.
