I recently ordered this palette based on samples from other customers. I was delighted with this item and the colors looked beautiful. I've been looking for a palette with many colors for a long time and most of the palettes I found were either too expensive or didn't have the right colors. I received this item in my order today along with two other books. I opened the box, took it out and unpacked it. I opened the palette and saw that the shadows didn't break during shipping. Then I leaned closer to look at the colors. However, I noticed that as I leaned closer, I smelled this strange and unpleasant odor. I describe it as a combination of plastic/metal/cheap glue. I thought the smell was coming from what was in the box at the time of delivery, so I left the palette on the kitchen table to "air out" and after half an hour I approached the flowers again. And again the same smell. I'm disappointed because the colors are so beautiful and I wish I could keep this palette but I'm sensitive to smells and the smell of plastic/metal/cheap glue doesn't let me keep it. So if you look at this palette, it is reasonably priced and has an amazing variety of colors. But if, like me, you are sensitive to smells and some smells bother you, then don't use this palette. I don't know if others have had the same situation with the smell, or maybe my palette is spoiled. I'll just send it back and keep looking.
