Review on Fiebing’s Edge Kote, 4 Oz. - 🖤 Enhance Leather Edges with Color Coating - Black by Tara Ford

This is just what I needed to restore the black trim on my Dooney and Bourke. I've had this bag for 4 years now and it's my favorite bag so it gets a LOT of use. The edge has not been worn. It was pretty bad. So first, if you see your edge starting to crack, do so immediately and repair it. Mine is so worn I put on my 6th coat of Edge Kote and it's just starting to look repaired. The parts hardly worn, ie the ends of the strap that do not need to be touched regularly, were hardly torn and the 2 layers worked perfectly, it looks like new. The middle of the strap that sits on my shoulder and which I regularly take on was in a most deplorable condition. This is the part I'm using in 6 layers. It works flawlessly and there's no reason to doubt that it will be beautiful when I'm done. I use a Q-tip to apply which works great for me as my strap is thick and the original piping is a bit removed from the edges (due to excessive wear because as I said I've been wearing this bag almost daily for 4 years) but if If you are a perfectionist, you can use a very small brush instead of a cotton swab. I also used a fresh Q-tip for each layer to keep it from running as much. It's a miracle in a jar if you have a favorite handbag you just can't live without or want to restore a vintage bag from a thrift store. That works great. And oh yeah, make sure you stir it when you get it. The instructions are on the side and it says don't shake it. I used a straw to stir.
