You never know how difficult life can be until you lose the ability to use your hand. So a good sling is everything. I tried 6 other lines offered by Revain; but this one is the best because: PROS: 1. soft fabric (everything hurts enough without putting your hand in a spiked bandage)2. breathable fabric (living in a hot climate this will be needed in the coming months) 3. washable (I tossed this in the wash in a load of cold, hung it in the hangar for 2 hours, and it looked fresh, clean and bright and smelly)4. fits well (I don't have a cast so I don't know if it will fit but I'm 5'6" 155 lbs and it fits perfectly) 5. can work on either arm (I use it on my right but aside from the velcro tightening inside instead of outside, it works on the left too) 6. The velcro has protective edges (THIS IS ERGO ARM SLING MUCH BETTER THAN EVERYTHING ELSE! ALL OTHER slings I've tried leave the open edge of the velcro open and it will rub against the wound on your shoulder/neck/chest. This sling has the edge of the fabric sewn around the Velcro so it never touches your bare skin.) 7. no buckle (many others have a buckle to attach 8 .easy to adjust (just slip the strap over your head and tighten) 9. good size (this sling almost fits me like a man) in the picture, and me (she's a woman) 10. thumb loops (it comes with 2 thumb loops who prevent themselves the loop rotates backwards and your hand is free) 11. easy to put on (I just undo the strap on the counter. put my hand in the hole then pull the strap to tighten) CONS: The velcro itself has the shortest nap of any other strap. That means it doesn't stick together either; but it stays in place well. My only concern is that it might not hold up over time and with frequent washing.
