Review on Gelid Solutions GC Extreme Thermal Paste: Optimal Cooling for High-Performance Systems by Jordan Weakland

Best in Market: Computers & Accessories

I've been using this for years on every GPU and CPU I've had with great results. I've tried so many TIMs over the last 25 years and this one consistently tops the charts. It doesn't corrode. It's not colored. But it's a bit bulky compared to other TIMs, which I like a lot. Why? Some GPU and CPU heatsinks, although rare, have a slightly uneven mating surface, or the manufacturing tolerances aren't tight enough, or it's possible that the GPU or laptop heatsink had a manufacturing defect that caused it to come out when Heating easily warped and caused contact. . between the GPU/CPU and the heatsink a little different. This paste is thick enough to alleviate at least some of these issues if they are minor. Something like AS5 just doesn't work for this scenario. In terms of performance, I've personally tested GC Extreme against Prolimatech PK2, PK3, Arctic MX2, MX4, Arctic Silver 5 and TG Kryonaut between Intel i7 6700K/AMD Ryzen 3900X/5900X and Corsair H115i/CM Hyper 212 Black over the past few years . TG Kryonaut and GC Extreme showed the best results compared to other pastes. If you don't go into detail. The cryonaut and both flooded the others. This should give everyone an idea of relative performance. Idles: Hyper2126700K - 30C3900X - 46CH115I6700K - 26C3900X - 42C5900X - 39CCINBENCH R20 - 844ch1157.1015.1157.1157.127.127.127.127.127.127.127.127.127-127 - 4 PK2/3 and was about 2-4 degrees hotter than the GC Extreme at idle and 4-7 degrees hotter under load across the board. It's pretty much the same story with GPUs. I would recommend this pasta to anyone else available.
